The First Settlers-Day 1 Summer Learning Journey

Hello blogging world! On the first activity for the Summer Learning Journey we had to read this story about Maui and the giant fish. We had to write 3 interesting facts about Maui that we learnt and other stories we know about him.

My first fact is that over thousands of years these gullies and mountains became the landscape of Aotearoa (New Zealand). Second fact is that every time when Maui's brothers would come back from fishing Maui would ask if he could go fishing but his brothers would always make a excuse so he can't go fishing. Third but last fact about Maui is that before fishing he made a plan to prove his brothers that he is a great fishermen! Here is one story about Maui that I have heard, Maui and the sun, I have read this but I encourage other people to read this if you haven't.

From reading this story I learnt that the first settlers was Maui. It was hard to find a photo for Maui and the giant fish. It was easy to find facts about this story because I have read this before. Next time I would try write more stories I have heard of. I hope you have enjoyed this blog post! If you would like to learn more about this story click here! Bye! Bye! Blogging world!

Crazy but mad science!!!

Hello blogging world! Today part of the school participated in a crazy science show! This show was called "The Nexus Science Show." Everyone saw a waterfall of magic tricks they have never seen before in their lives!

I really loved watching this show, my favourite part about it was that when he said, he would set a firework in the hall, I was really shocked because it actually looked like a real firework in the air! I also loved it when Richard the scientist used a hair dryer and made a ball float in the air. I learnt so much from this science show! Under this text would be some videos and a few pictures.

From watching this science show I have learnt more about waters chemicals because the chemicals in water is h2o, and I learnt more about air pressure and what will happen if the air pressure is fast. This is probably one of the best shows iv'e seen!

I wonder how many years Richard has been doing these shows and practising because all of these tricks are really cool. It is like an illusion.

Overall I think that this show was really worth it because you can also learn more things about science and I got amazed really quickly.

Comment down below if you have ever seen this show or if you haven't comment if you would like to see it. I hoped that you have enjoyed this blog post and would also get inspired to see it. Bye! Bye! Blogging world!

Student led toolkits!

Hello blogging world! Today 24 people from the student led toolkits got to have an opportunity to learn and present to New Windsor School and other people from the Ako Hiko schools. If you would like to see more about Ako Hiko the website is akohiko.org. Every student had to get transported so some parents also came. We first arrived and got out lanyards if you don't know what lanyards is it is like a tag or something to show what session you go to during the toolkits. Our lanyard were kind of like a special pass. Most of the time everyone was in the auditorium. All the school had different sessions for 1 hour. Below this text would be some photos of our school!

2 lucky people got to do the coding challenge and it is in the second photo for the coding challenge they had courses to play with the trendy spheros they are like robots that light up. The third photo is a problem solving challenge when you have given materials to make something. From going to student led toolkits I have learnt how to sign in the WiFi more quicker than usual. Maybe next time should try improve my google slide. I think that everyone has had a really fun day as much as I did. Please feel free to leave a comment! I wish I could do this again! Bye! Bye!
