Thank you for coming to visit my learning blog. This will be my last post because I am going on holiday. I have enjoyed using this blog to share my learning with you all. I hope you have enjoyed reading about my learning too.

Fun! Fun! Fun! Making cybersmart games!

In the last month we have started making some awesome cybersmart games with our cybersmart teacher James, most people thought of using an idea of monopoly because it's quite famous and fun, so I also used the same template too but it's junior monopoly this time. This is a different version because it's all about learning and thinking about safety. James also made a game too so we can learn and get some information about what our games will be like. I made it in a google drawing because I thought it will be easier than making a slide and my game is not a pick a path game. I think making my game was really successful. 

Why did we do this? 
we did this because in cybersmart we always had to challenge ourselves with something we have never done before so we did this because making a game would take days to get it finished except normal activities that just take 2 or more hours to finish.

I hope you enjoyed my game and this blog post! I think the game went well because it wasn't too easy and too hard and I think it was a pretty good challenge. Production...Production...Production! Making thinking hats.

In the last weeks we have been making some thinking hats about our production called "Alice in Wonderland." Production was really successful there was a full audience and this time it's time to describe the production my thinking hats will be at the bottom of the post.

Why did we do thinking hats?
We did thinking hats because production is something to remember about. We also did thinking hats because we had to describe how you felt at production when it's your first time acting in front of a massive crowd.

Why is it important?
It is important because this is your last production your ever going to have in Primary School and to remember it you can describe it in thinking hats thinking hats have different emotions like eg.(Negative hat, Positive hat and creative hat etc.) So like if there is a positive hat you write positive thing about your hat.

What happens next?
After making the hats were going to hang the hats in our classroom so other people can see what we think about the production that we did.

Super hungry... nodding dog!

In the last weeks and month we have been studying about electricity to make our toys when the teacher said we had to make a toy with a mechanism I was like "We can't make a toy were not professionals!" I thought it was impossible but we had to go in buddies and had to make a plan so I went to the library to see other moving toys. I thought This book was really helpful "Models" but It didn't say who written it. This is how I found the perfect toy! My toy will be in the bottom of this post!

Why were we making toys?

We were making toys because it was our inquiry topic. We also made it because every year we have to make a model eg.(Making space stations, Bridges, Bird houses.) Making toys was really fun but lots of problems arose.

Why is this important?

This is important because everyone has to have a go to try make toys they never made sometimes we had to test the toys. This is also important because working with other people is good because you can make new friends, to make toys we had to problem solve which was the main thing.

What happens next?

After making the toys we have to take a photo for portfolios to go home and compare our toys to our home toys and see what the difference is and to show our parents what we've been doing past these weeks.

Me and my buddy didn't finish yet but were working on it! We had to problem solve the whole way now you have to pull the string and the tail and head will go up and down the dog will start eating the bone on the other side. Thank you for reading this please comment down below. Blog you later! 😁

Experiencing novel study's!!!

At school we've been making novel study's for a month now, it has been a great experience trying out novel study's most people finished and had handed the book back to the teacher. 

What is a novel study?

A novel study is when you choose a chapter book and we read the whole book while we are reading it we have to update something on a slide about the novel study the slide will be at the bottom of this post.

Why did we do this?

We did this because to make reading more fun for other people and we always did group reading which was always the same so we decided to do novel study's so not everything will be the same type of learning.

What happens next?

When everyone is finished their novel study the teacher will make a QR code about the novel study so other people can also read them on smartphones too.

Where were room 9 and 8 born?

This week we did cybersmart with James and located where we were all born check this map! How long did the kids travel form where they where born? Explore this map and see where we were born.

How far have some students travelled in their lifetime to reach WPS?

1. Khatizah travelled 8,668km to WPS.

2. Maanov travelled 2,231km to WPS.

3. Troy travelled 1,337km to WPS.

Why do people make the choice to move to different countries?

1. Maybe they stayed too long in that country so they moved to a different country.

2. Maybe they had a holiday so they went over seas.

3. Maybe they got a new job at another country.

Is this a trend in NZ society?
It is popular that other people in the world live in New Zealand because New Zealand is a really famous country and a language most people knows how to talk.
What does the media tell us?
People are buying more house and the houses start to get more expensive.

When I watched this, I felt sad sad for the other people that got teased because this is what happens to others. If you watched this don't do any of the bad things, and don't say others are weird even though your different its really good to be different from others. Don't be racist. 

Social media disaster.

Today in cybersmart we learnt what to do when you have mean comment or something bad that you saw or posted. This is what our class did. We made up a problem that might happen and then we had to ask questions to solve the problem and answer them in a positive way not a mean way. These are some good example to solve a problem about mean comments.

                           What should I do?
1. Tell someone you trust or either tell your friends that can do something about it never tell someone you can't trust or it might spread around the world or either reply in a nice way.

2. To solve the problem report the comment and leave youtube or if you try risking to reply don't fight back and argue.

3. If you reported that person the owner of youtube could of heared of the mean comments so the owner might block the person on youtube.

Tri-Star Gymnastics!

For the last 8 weeks our class has been working on gymnastics every Wednesday in this term. There were 2 main people who usually come and teaches us what are the main parts we even had a guest helper teddy. Everyone challenged themselves with all the stretches. Our focus's were: Statics , Landings, Locomotion, Spring, Rotation, Swing and manipulative skills.

What is statics:
Statics means you stay still and not move while you're standing and balancing.
What is Landings:
Landings means a type of way to land when you jumped in the air like when you jumped your in a squat looking shape.
What is Locomotion:
Locomotion is when you move your body around your arms and your legs.
What is Spring:
Spring means you jump up and down.
What is Rotation:
Rotation means spinning around.
What is Swing:
Swing means swinging on the monkey bars.
What is Manipulative skills: 
Manipulative skills means movement.

My favourite part was today playing fruit salad which is also using a rainbow parachute. Next time I should work on cartwheels. Feel free to leave a helpful comment!

                                        

How to make a joiner?

2 weeks ago we have been working on some joiners.We displayed the joiners in the art show.
What is the art show?
The art show is a place at our school where everyone comes to see what we have been doing for art all the class's had different types of art. 

If you would like to make a joiner you've came to the right place! If you don't know what a joiner is the 2nd slide will tell you what a joiner is. Making joiners is a nerve-wrecking and difficult piece of art that we have ever made but the whole class finished their joiners! Please check out this presentation! Improving others comments!

Today in cybersmart with James we were improving some average comments on blogs. Everyone In our class made the comments more specific, interesting and related to the topic.We will always use P,T,H. Some comments didn't have correct spelling and didn't make sense hopefully you guys reading this don't make any mistakes like these people. Learning to use circuits!

Yesterday the senior classrooms came together in groups to work on some circuits we all had fun and room 8,7,9 were really good at instructions everyone followed the instructions on the booklet they worked as a team and barely argued.If you are wonder what circuits are take a look at these interesting facts!I made a thinglink so I can show people the features of the circuits.If you move your mouse facts will appear on your screen.Hope you learnt from this post.Feel free to leave a helpful comment.

My favourite type of learning we did in term 2!!!

For term 2 we've been learning lots of cool stuff but my favourite part I've done would be Camp/Muriwai. The part I mostly liked about muriwai was the rooms all my friends were like having so much fun! We loved every minute.
