Making a Fashion Statement - Activity 2

Hello Blogging world! In the years following WWII, everyone started to go back to there homes and families and have a normal life again. Soldiers returned to their sports teams and started competing again. In the late 1940s men and women would go watch these events, men wearing hats and suits while women wearing dresses, hats and gloves. These were called fashion. Here are 2 photos of what they use to wear in the late 1940s.

Those are what they use to wear and here is what we wear now.

There is so much that is different, the colour, the shine and much more! Now we have to find out 2 styles you prefer and why? The 2 styles I prefer is the women in the 2017 dress and the late 1940s right picture because the dress for 2017 has really pretty colours and the dress is very long. I also chose the late 1940s one too because old clothes could sometimes be special. I think 65 years from now most people will be wearing really cool clothes that you would wear to a meeting. I hope you have enjoyed this blog post! Please feel free to leave a positive, thoughtful and helpful comment. Bye! Bye! Blogging world!

  1. Jumbo Amie,

Well done for pointing out that old clothes might have sentimental value. I agree that sometimes old things are meaningful because of where they come from or what they mean, rather than how much they might cost. I liked seeing the modern clothes you posted, they’re very fancy, perhaps next time you could post pictures of clothing styles you see here in Auckland. Also, do you have have any sentimental valuables?

I love clothes from the past, sometimes I see people wearing clothes that were definitely inspired by them in different ways. I wonder how much it’ll change in the future.. Remember to let us know what you think people will be wearing 65 years from now. Share your thoughts about this and I’ll be able to reward you with full points for this activity!

    Toe feiloa’i fo’i,

  2. Bonjour Cia, I'm not sure if I have any sentimental valuables. I will fix my missing mistake because that time I didn't know what it meant but now I know what it means.
