Paying it forward - Bonus activity

Hello Blogging world! In the 1930s New Zealand became a little bit better more people were able to find work and get payed. But everyone was still very cautious of using their money. They rarely even thought about buying other people gifts and treats. If I were to travel back to see my family members in 1930s I would have not bring a lot of things compared to now. Here is what I would have brought.

I would bring 2 blocks of Whittaker's Chocolate because it is real  chocolate and is very creamy and nice. I would also bring a little bit of lollipops because I like to lick lollipops. I would also like to take some dried apricots because I really like eating them and they are citrus which I like. I would also bring some spare clothes and 1 board game like Monopoly.

Do you like what I would have brought? What would you have brought if you were travelling in the 1930s? From making this blog post I learnt that Whittaker's Chocolate was existing since 1896. I hope you enjoyed this blog post! Bye! Bye! Blogging world!

  1. Hi Amie,

What a great post! I didn't realise that the Whittaker's Chocolate company was over 100 years old. That's pretty incredible. I am confident that your family would have loved the chocolates that you brought with you as well as the lollipops, dried apricots and board game. My son, Aronui, loved dried apricots. In fact, he often asks me to put them in his school lunch box, if I can. He is 7 1/2 and goes to school here in Auckland as well.

I am planning to spend some time with him this afternoon playing a game. He's currently into 'Connect 4' and Monopoly. His favourite thing to do is to buy as many houses as he possibly can (and until he loses all of his money)!

Do you ever play Monopoly? I hope that you and your family are having a lovely time together over the break. The weather has been pretty nice, hasn't it? Hopefully you've had plenty of time to go outside and enjoy the sunshine as well as to blog.

Keep up the great work, Amie. You are teaching us new and interesting things each day. We love it!

    Best,
Rachel (and the rest of the Summer Learning Journey blogging team)

    1. Hi Rachel, it is pretty cool how the Whittaker's chocolate is over 100 years old. My connection between Aronui and me is that we both love dried apricots! I also enjoy playing connect 4 and Monopoly too. I do play Monopoly I have recently played the original one and the Monopoly Banking with my friends. The weather has been pretty nice, I have spent equal amounts inside and outside. I am glad that I am teaching people everyday!Thank you for commenting!
