Chasing Great - Day 2

Over the past 17 years New Zealand experienced a number of sporting highlights, perhaps none larger than the back-to-back Rugby World Cup victories in 2011 and 2015. In both competitions a our national rugby team the All Blacks, was captained by a man named "Richie McCaw." He is the all time best rugby player. A movie called "Chasing Great" recently created was about his incredible career.

For this activity we had to watch the trailer of Chasing Great and learn more about him online that we never knew. After watching and learning we had to list them. We also had to write what else we would like to find out.

Here are my facts,

  1. He wants to take his team to places people have never been.
  2. When he was little he wanted to become a great All Black player.
  3. He exercises almost the whole day, like even at night!

This trailer seems so interesting and makes me want to watch the movie. Another thing I would like to learn more about Richie McCaw was when did he start being in the All Blacks team and when he started loving sports.

  1. Afternoon Amie,

Your post about Richie McCaw is awesome. He is a legend in New Zealand and will be remembered with in the rugby world for a long time to come. I have followed Richie's career for a long time and felt very emotional when I watch his last game at the Rugby World Cup in 2015. Richie must be very motivated to exercise all day in order to a great All Black. Is there a hobby that you love doing where you would be happy to work hard all day everyday to achieve?

I find it amazing that over Richie's rugby career he played in 148 test matches and captained 110 of them. That is incredible as it shows he has an amazing leadership skill that took him straight into captaining the team. Have you thought about how many tries Richie has scored over his rugby career?

    Have an amazing day Amie,
    Megan

    1. Hey Megan, I think he is retiring now that is pretty sad. My hobby is going to camp because it makes me feel very free and it would make me very happy. He must have trained for years to be in the All Blacks team. I haven't actually thought about how many tries Richie has scored before.
