Snail Mail - Bonus Activity

Hello Blogging world! In the 1950s most people communicated by using letters.New Zealanders sent over 200 million letters and postcards in the 1950s! For this activity we had to imagine we were sending each other postcards and letters in the 1950s what would have in the front of your letter? Here is what I would have.

Do you like my postcard? Well if you are also participating in the Summer Learning Journey I encourage you to do this fun bonus activity if you haven't yet! The girl is holding a hokey pokey ice cream which is Kiwiana and there is a Kiwi too. The tree are Pohutukawa trees, the girl is also wearing jandals and there is also more jandals on the ground. Lastly there are ferns and the New Zealand name.

It was hard to make the icons with the shapes so most oft he things are from google search and they are all free to use images! It took a long time but it was worth it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post please feel free to leave a comment! Bye! Bye! Blogging world!

  1. Hey Amie,

I’m loving your kiwiana inspired postcard, the Pohutukawa trees and Kiwi are awesome additions. Next time, maybe you could add a sign with the name of the place in your postcard picture. Maybe it could be the name of a reserve or a city, what do you think?

Well done for using free to use images, it is important to respect copyright laws and artists who create images or art, that was very thoughtful! In my own postcard I’d include pavlova and also some kowhai flowers. Is there anything else you’d add to your postcard if you could?

    Toe feiloa’i fo’i,

    Cia.
