Country Calendar - Activity 2

Hello Blogging world! The longest running television show in New Zealand was Country Calendar. It started on March 6th 1966 and has been running since. The show includes people that are farmers. For this activity we had to find lout what is interesting or challenging and give 2 reasons why you want or not to be a farmer.

It is very interesting that this show has been up for 4 decades/40 years! It must be hard to keep up with all the animals on the farm and buy the food. I would love to be a farmer because there would be so many pretty views of the farm and so many adorable animals. Another reason why I want to be a farmer because you don't always have to go to the supermarket to buy fruit or veges because you can grow a lot of that!

Does my reasons sound convincing? What would your reasons be, leave a comment about that! From making this blog post I learnt what Country Calendars is actually about. It was easy to give the reasons because owning a farm could be very useful! I hope you liked this blog post! Bye! Bye! Blogging world!

  1. Ciao Amie,

I really liked your point about being able to grown your own fruit and vegetables when living on a farm. My family and I have the opportunity to grow fruit and vegetables in our back yard here in Auckland. We have a lime tree, orange tree, strawberries, kale, rosemary, sweet pea, capsicums, and tomatoes. Do you grown any vegetables in your garden?

One reason why I think I would like farming is because you have so much space for your children to grow up. The lifestyle on a farm is very different than in a city like Auckland. However, farmer's are very busy with limited days off and very early starts. Are you an early riser? Would you be able to handle 4:00am starts?

    Enjoy your day,
    Megan :)
